What if we didn’t have closets to clean out?
Hi friends!
I hope you’ve had a great week in your neck of the woods! Mine feels like a whirlwind of all the good things :)
I came across the statistic below and was blown away.
“The average woman in 1930 owned 9 outfits. Now the average woman purchases 67 items of clothing a year.”
- Professor Karen J. Pine in Mind What You Wear: The Psychology of Fashion
When we talked last week about cleaning out our closets, the above statistic helps explain why we even need to clean out our closets in the first place – we all have more than we need.
In general, we are cleaning out our closets to make space to buy more things, and without thinking about refreshing and continuing to wear the things that we already have.
Let’s pause and reflect on these thoughts this week:
How can we do more with less?
How can we use what we have?
Where does our excess go when we dispose of it?
Why do we need excess in the first place?
There are only 7 days in a week and yet our closets are stuffed full of clothes that we never wear…
Yours in doing more with less,
Xo Kevin
