Let’s be more intentional
Hi friends!
Happy December! 2022 is coming to a close and I have decided to take some time to reflect on the year and strategize for 2023…and do you know what keeps coming up for me (and many of my clients)? Intentionality. How do I want to dress? How will I maintain my closet? How will I teach and lead my family to enjoy what they have instead of wanting more? How do I create a tradition of sustainable living?
Through my conversations with many of you, I know you want to be intentional with your clothes and your consumption (that’s why you’re here, after all!). As I mentioned last week, it is so much easier to consume mindfully when we are intentional about WHY we are consuming in the first place.
For this reason, I come back to the Style Summary – the words that describe your style. It is so much more than a description of how you want to represent yourself to the world – it is an intention. I will expand on this more in the weeks to come.
For now, I invite you to consider your intentions for the month ahead – whether or not you are celebrating a holiday.
Before you attend a gathering -- How do you want to show up? Will you dress up or not? How do you feel your best and does intentional dressing help you feel like your best self? (Hint: Start in your closet -- this does not mean buying something new!)
Before you buy a gift or wrap a present – think about WHY. Does the receiver want/need something tangible or could you give an experience instead? Does it need to be wrapped in fancy (single-use) paper or could it be wrapped in paper bags decorated by your children (or you!)?
If you’re looking for other ideas for how to be more intentionally sustainable this month, I love this article and this article.
Drop me a note and let me know how you’re intentionally dressing or living this month!
Until next week,
Kevin xo
